Addiction and Homelessness
This program area is composed of clinical psychologists and physicians with scientific and intervention interests
in addiction and infectious diseases, primarily HIV/AIDS. Particular emphases of this team since 1993, has been on homelessness with active
research in the area of crack cocaine addiction and homelessness. Active and future research and treatment efforts are targeted toward
transporting effective drug addiction treatment, integrating treatment services for persons living with AIDS and substance
related disorders, and improving provider performance in drug addiction treatment settings in Ukraine for persons at risk of HIV
due to intravenous opiate abuse.
