Research Interests
Dr. Williams is the Division's Associate Director and also directs its Data, Information, and Statistics Core (DISC) and its Multi-center Studies Coordinating Center (MSCC). DISC provides research infrastructure support for the Division and includes units for biostatistics, data management, Information systems, and statistical computing support. The MSCC provides coordinating center support for several large studies, including CARDIA, the CARDIA Fitness Study (CFS), and the Dental Practice Based Research Network (PBRN). Dr. Williams serves as the PI for the Coordinating Centers for CAMUS, Dental PBRN, and for the Fogarty International Center funded Clinical Research Training for Studies of CVD in India. He has a long standing interest in large scale collaborative studies and coordinating center operations, research training, cardiovascular disease epidemiology and outcomes research.
