COERE

The mission of the UAB COERE is
to build and maintain a successful program of research targeted
at improving the quality and outcomes of health care This is accomplished
by using interdisciplinary teams to test innovations that promote
evidence-based practice, reduce inequities in care for under-served
and minority populations, and improve quality of life and functional
outcomes for patients; developing and testing innovative methods
with application to important questions in the delivery of health
care; training and mentoring students, fellows and faculty in
these methods; and serving as a resource to UAB faculty, health
care systems, related organizations, government, and philanthropy
to further disseminate outcomes research knowledge and expertise.

The Minority Health & Research Center (MHRC)
is a comprehensive educational, research and community outreach
center focused on eliminating the health disparities of racial/ethnic
minorities. More
RRSF
The Recruitment and Retention Shared Facility
(RRSF) is designed to facilitate and assist investigators in recruiting
subjects to participate in clinical research and to provide linkage
between the community and UAB researchers. The RRSF provides UAB
researchers with diverse recruitment services, with an emphasis
on women and minorities; provides and maintains the necessary
linkage between UAB researchers and the surrounding communities;
disseminates culturally appropriate information regarding techniques
for recruitment and retention of minority subjects suitable for
UAB investigators; and establishes and maintains an information
system with a Recruitment Data Base (RDB) comprised of a Mass
Mailing System, a Recruitment Tracking System, and a Health Profile
System to identify subjects with certain health profiles of interest
to UAB investigators. More
